Jo Wright | Abstract Artist
Hey there, art lovers and potential new fans, I’m Jo, an abstract painter based in the lovely Oxfordshire countryside. My work is all about capturing the energy of movement, through layered textures, bold marks, and a smattering of chaos. I love letting the process lead the way, so sometimes the journey of making a piece becomes part of the artwork itself.
I’m self-taught, which basically means I’ve spent years figuring out my own quirky methods, drawing inspiration from my neurodivergence, embracing happy accidents (and occasional catastrophes), and seeing where the paint takes me. I like to think of it as controlled chaos with a purpose.
Since launching Jo Wright Creative Ltd. in 2023, I’ve worked hard to get my paintings out into the world. I’ve submitted to countless exhibitions, entered awards, and put myself forward in galleries, fairs, and online platforms, and it’s been quite the affirming learning experience.
My work has been shortlisted and received honourable mentions, and I love connecting directly with collectors whenever I can.
Sustainability is important to me, so I use recycled and repurposed materials wherever possible.
Alongside original paintings, I sell open edition and limited-edition prints, each one hand-printed and hand-cut, so no two are ever exactly the same. By taking control of every stage, I blur the line between reproduction and original artwork. It’s a hands-on, personal approach that mirrors my process-driven practice and celebrates the quirks, imperfections, and joy in making something by hand.
To sum up, my work is me on a canvas: creative, energetic, and unapologetically playful. Some marks are deliberate, some just happen, and sometimes everything just seems to come together in a way I didn’t plan. Every piece reflects persistence, experimentation, and a lot of heart, and I hope it sparks something for you too.

A Note About Everyday Womtras 👀
Everyday Womtras™ now have a website of their very own.
What started as doodles alongside my abstract art has grown into something louder, cheekier, and far more opinionated, and it needs space to shine.
Same hand. Same heart. Just a home that lets the Womtras be unapologetically themselves.
Cheeky. Irreverent. A bit subversive. Everyday Womtras will continue to be sold through jowrightcreative.com in addition to everydaywomtras.com. I own and run both domains. I am a one-woman machine with not enough time but just enough sanity.
