This artwork invites multiple interpretations, each evoking a vivid natural scene. The dynamic composition could resemble a seascape from above, a vibrant blue lagoon or a tsunami wave washing over a beach. Some see an imaginative figure, a sea witch or a whale, emerging within the colours. The ambiguity of form, with bold blues and organic shapes, adds a sense of mystery, allowing the viewer to drift between landscapes, creatures, and the unknown depths of the ocean.
The 14 40s Collection features original abstract paintings and fine art prints created on square 40 x 40 cm canvases, offering a versatile and highly sought-after size for modern interiors. Each artwork is created in my Oxfordshire studio using my intuitive, process-driven approach, combining layered paint, expressive mark-making, and rich surface texture.
Original 40 x 40 paintings are particularly popular with collectors seeking authentic contemporary art that fits easily into a variety of spaces. This square format works beautifully as a standalone statement piece or grouped as part of a gallery wall. The balanced proportions suit living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and home offices, making these artworks ideal for both new and experienced art collectors.
This collection includes both original paintings and fine art prints, allowing collectors to choose between owning a unique original artwork or a gallery-quality print of some of my most compelling pieces.

Original Art & Fine Art Prints Handmade in Oxfordshire
I use a variety of materials in my process. From brushes and pallet knives to cardboard scraps and sticks. My work is largely acrylic paint, whichever brand I can get on offer, and my preffered mediums are either Windsor and Newton or Liquitex.
Once signed and varnished, I photograph my paintings in natural light and crop to standard print sizes, adjusting levels to ensure as accurate a match to the original as possible. Once exported I print on my inkjet Epson P-900 SureColour. Tis a sexy beast.
I print onto a variety of papers, including high gloss and watercolour. My larger prints use satin 260gsm and my extra large prints (A1 & A0) are handled by a top notch local third party printing service I've been working with for years.
