A vibrant peacock in rich shades of blue and green. His silver feathers add depth and texture to the piece. The bold contrast of shimmering silver against deep emerald tones creates a regal effect, hence I knew I had to give him an appropriate title. The original sold the day after I painted him, with hardly time for the varnish to dry. I didn’t have enough time with him.
My figurative paintings explore animals through abstraction, focusing on energy and presence rather than realism. Animals provide a starting point, but the final work evolves through instinct, texture, and colour. This creates paintings that feel alive and expressive rather than fixed or literal.
Collectors across the UK are increasingly drawn to abstract animal art for its ability to combine familiarity with emotional openness. These works bring warmth, movement, and individuality into a space while remaining firmly rooted in contemporary abstraction. Each painting is created, finished, and prepared entirely by hand in my Oxfordshire studio.

I use a variety of materials in my process. From brushes and pallet knives to cardboard scraps and sticks. My work is largely acrylic paint, whichever brand I can get on offer, and my preffered mediums are either Windsor and Newton or Liquitex.
Once signed and varnished, I photograph my paintings in natural light and crop to standard print sizes, adjusting levels to ensure as accurate a match to the original as possible. Once exported I print on my inkjet Epson P-900 SureColour. Tis a sexy beast.
I print onto a variety of papers, including high gloss and watercolour. My larger prints use satin 260gsm and my extra large prints (A1 & A0) are handled by a top notch local third party printing service I've been working with for years.
